There was a time when honor was the measuring stick, honor was the important characteristic to exhibit, honor – was well, honorable. We need more men and women of honor. We need leaders who understand the value of honor and judge themselves accordingly. We need more honor in each an everyone of us.
All the people that we have written about in our People Who Inspire posts - all have one thing in common - they never gave up, they took the next step. You can take the next step.... you can Prevail.
We need to understand that there are very different levels of thought within each group. Within the individual group there are subgroups, subgroups of subgroups, subgroups of…. you get the idea. The point is – we need to recognize that every group has individuals that act in ways that do not represent the entire group and we cannot condemn the entire group for those actions. We CAN condemn the individuals that act in those ways – and we should, loudly!
It is time – our time! As a society we must stand up and say what we believe is right or wrong. As individuals we must stand up and voice our opinions. At Prevail Card, our opinion is simple – the current state of society is not acceptable. The current leadership of this country is giving authority and permission to people harboring thoughts of hatred and bigotry – and many people are using that authority provided to take action on those thoughts.
The risk to our country is in fighting among all those different cultures internally. We are easily stronger when we are bound together by are commonalities – while respecting the differences of each individual piece, much like the beauty created in a Mosaic.
History is clear, hatred and leaders that promote hatred do not prevail. Leaders that build foundations of community, of respect and of equality, prevail in becoming icons for future generations. But, it takes support of the masses, support of everyday people to stand up to the hate.
We want the phrase “play your Prevail Card” to be the calling card of those willing to stand up and say – we are all equal, every person deserves respect, every person deserves to be treated as human, every person deserves to live with dignity – and, we will not allow the hate to divide us.
